  • Important Renewal and Recertification Fee Updates

    from NCHEC's Board of Commissioners

Thank you CHES® and MCHES® for selecting NCHEC as your health education certification body. We look forward to another year of growing our credentials and advancing the health education profession.

Over the past year, NCHEC invested in technological services including enhanced security features and convenience options for CHES® and MCHES®. One of those features includes Single Sign-On, which allows users to log onto NCHEC Online, a community exclusively for CHES® and MCHES® to engage, learn and collaborate with one another. This feature is a result of work from the Division Board for Professional Development (DBPD) and NCHEC’s response to calls and feedback from CHES® and MCHES® for additional resources for certified individuals. To date, the community has over 13,000 members, and once logged in, CHES® and MCHES® can access and share resources, collaborate, contribute to discussions, and build their network.  If you haven’t logged onto NCHEC Online yet, please do so today and take advantage of your certification, and begin engaging with other certified health professionals in this exclusive, certified community.

NCHEC’s Board of Commissioners voted to increase active CHES® and MCHES® Renewal and Recertification fees by $10 effective January 2023. This is a necessary change to meet the costs of maintaining technical support and services, and allows NCHEC to remain a competitive leader in the certification community while continuing to provide convenience and a quality-industry standard experience. Certificate holders will see this change reflected in their 2023 April and October billing statements.

NCHEC continues to invest in the recognition of health education services through the development and dissemination of a Credentialing and Reimbursement for Health Education Services Toolkit with webinar offerings to help CHES® and MCHES® learn and navigate the billing process. NCHEC is also participating in American Medical Association CPT Code editorial panel meetings to encourage recognition of the CHES®/MCHES® certifications.  In addition, NCHEC recently launched an Employer toolkit that invites companies and organizations to post jobs that recognize NCHEC certifications on our job board.

We thank our certified community for your understanding and support in helping NCHEC grow alongside you and continue to provide standards of credentialing excellence. Please refer to the Policies and Procedures Handbook for Renewal and Recertification here and email any questions to admin@nchec.org.
